To further the mission of Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research,
our team members at The Odierno Law Firm, P.C. have extended a generous
donation. This contribution benefits the scientific and medical research
that the organization performs in regard to pancreatic cancer.
About the Lustgarten Foundation
Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research is a research facility
for the diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of this critical type
of cancer. It is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1999. The
foundation is named after Marc Lustgarten, a Cablevision executive who
died at the young age of 52 as a result of pancreatic cancer.
The charitable gift assists with the threefold purpose of the organization:
- Increase funding of research for biological mechanisms
- Facilitate communication among members of the scientific community
- Heighten public awareness of pancreatic cancer
The organization typically solicits support by holding various runs / walks
and other events at a regional level. Much of the support, however, comes
in the form of donations, just as The Odierno Law Firm, P.C. gave toward
the cause. In 2012, the Lustgarten Foundation had raised an amount in
excess of $16.1 million, which has further increased in the past three years.
