Plaintiff, a 50 year-old, male worked as a beverage representative and was visiting a client at their grocery store. Upon arrival one of the employees incorrectly directed plaintiff to enter an unmarked door located in the rear of the store. The door did not have a lock and when plaintiff slid the door open it led to an unlit shaft. The plaintiff fell approximately two stories and sustained multiple lower leg fractures requiring external fixation as well as subsequent operations and hospitalizations. Upon investigation, The Odierno Law Firm, P.C. discovered that a person previously fell down the same shaft and the owner of the premises did not affect any remedial change to light nor door.
