- 2015: In 2015, there was a 7.7% increase in the total number of fatal car accidents, reaching 1,121. This was 80 more than the year before, and the national number increased 2,348.
- 2016: In 2016, the number of fatal car accidents dropped to 1,025 despite the national number increasing.
